01 The roofline

Eight products, from the eaves to the gable

The roofline is everything along the edges of the roof. Pick a product to see where it sits: at the eaves in section, or on the gable end.

The eaves, in section A section through the eaves of a slate roof: the rafter runs over the wall plate to its foot, a uPVC fascia board is fixed to the rafter ends with a vented soffit board back to the wall, a half-round gutter hangs on a bracket with a guard inside, and the underlay is dressed down a support tray into the gutter beneath battens and slates. 1257

02 Why uPVC

Won't rot.Won't warp.Never needs repainting.

Timber boards take on water, swell, rot and need painting every few years. uPVC boards don't. An occasional clean is all they need.

Time to replace the roofline?
