Tap a marker on the house, or pick from the list. Most repairs are one of these.

Slipped, cracked or missing slates and tiles

- You'll notice
- A piece of slate or tile in the garden or gutter, a gap in a course, daylight in the loft, or a damp patch upstairs.
- Why it happens
- Old fixing nails rust through, frost cracks slates, and wind lifts anything already loose.
- What we do
- We refix slipped slates and replace broken ones with matched slate or tile, held with a tingle where a nail can't reach.

Ridge and hip tiles

- You'll notice
- Mortar in the gutter, a ridge tile that rocks or has slipped, or gaps along the top of the roof.
- Why it happens
- The mortar bedding under ridge and hip tiles weathers and cracks over the years.
- What we do
- We lift and re-bed ridge and hip tiles in fresh mortar and replace any that have cracked.

Chimney flashings and pointing

- You'll notice
- Damp on the chimney breast, water around the stack after rain, crumbling mortar or lifted lead.
- Why it happens
- Lead flashings lift or split, mortar joints open up, and cracked flaunching lets water into the stack.
- What we do
- We re-dress or replace the flashing in lead, repoint the stack and re-bed the pots.

Storm and wind damage
- You'll notice
- Slates or tiles missing after high winds, debris in the garden, or a leak that only shows in wind-driven rain.
- Why it happens
- Wind gets under anything already loose, and one missing slate lets the next ones go.
- What we do
- We make the roof safe and weathertight first, show you what we've found, then put it right properly.
- 1Stay off the roof and away from where slates could fall
- 2Photograph the damage from the ground
- 3Call us with the photos

Moss and blocked gutters

- You'll notice
- Green growth along the tiles, moss in the gutters, or gutters spilling over in heavy rain.
- Why it happens
- Moss holds water against slates and tiles, lifts their edges and washes down into the gutters.
- What we do
- We remove the moss, clear the gutters and check the rest of the roof while we're up there.

Overflowing or leaking gutters

- You'll notice
- Water spilling over the gutter, drips at the joints, or damp streaks down the brickwork.
- Why it happens
- Blocked outlets, perished joint seals and sagging brackets all stop water reaching the downpipe.
- What we do
- We clear and reseal gutters, re-align or replace brackets, or replace the run in uPVC.

Worn bay and flat roofs

Before and after: one of our bay roofs
- You'll notice
- Cracked lead or felt over a bay window, water coming through the window head, or puddles that don't drain.
- Why it happens
- Lead fatigues and splits over decades; felt cracks and lets water in at the laps.
- What we do
- We repair what can be repaired, or re-cover the bay in lead, GRP or felt.

Rotten fascias and soffits

- You'll notice
- Flaking paint, soft or split timber at the eaves, or gutters pulling away from the boards.
- Why it happens
- Timber boards rot once water gets behind the paint, and the gutter brackets lose their grip.
- What we do
- We strip out the old boards and fit maintenance-free uPVC fascias and soffits.

A leak or damp patch indoors
- You'll notice
- A stain on a ceiling, damp around the chimney breast, or water in the loft after rain.
- Why it happens
- Water often travels along timbers before it shows, so the stain isn't always under the fault.
- What we do
- We trace it back from the roof (usually flashings, slipped slates, valleys or gutters) and repair it there.
- 1Put a bucket under the drip
- 2If water is near lights or sockets, switch off at the fuse box
- 3Send us a photo of the stain and the roof
02 Repair or re-roof
We'll tell you straight
They came out to inspect the damage, showed us photos of the problem areas and explained the best repair options without any pressure.
A repair makes sense when…
The damage is in one place and the rest of the roof is sound: a few slipped slates, a cracked ridge tile, a split flashing.
A re-roof is worth it when…
Slates or tiles are failing across the whole roof, or repairs keep coming back in new places. We'll quote for both if that helps you decide.
New roofs and re-roofs
03 Maintenance
Small jobs that stop big ones
A roof check catches slipped slates, damaged ridge tiles and loose flashing before water gets in. Ask about regular inspections when you call.
- 01
Moss removal
Moss holds water against slates and tiles and washes into the gutters.
- 02
Gutter clearing
Clear gutters stop water spilling over the fascia and down the walls.
- 03
Slate, tile and ridge checks
A look over the whole roof for anything slipped, cracked or loose.
- 04
Lead flashing repairs
Lead at chimneys and walls refixed or repaired before it lets water in.
